Coopers Cross is a major redevelopment scheme for Kennedy Wilson comprising an entire city block it represents one of the largest undeveloped sites in Dublin’s central business district. At 5.9 acres, it forms part of the Docklands Strategic Development Zone, facilitating the regeneration of the Docklands. The office buildings have been designed for maximum efficiency and flexibility with bright, open floorplates and will target the highest certification and sustainability standards, including NZEB, LEED Platinum, BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum. Sisk brought Relinea on board this project to install GRP Riser Guard, our Service Riser Flooring solution.

Problem/Challenge

Sisk wanted to use Relinea’s Riser Guard to floor riser voids early in the development, taking advantage of several benefits the system can offer.

These included:

Avoiding the need for the provision of costly and potentially hazardous barriers and edge protection.
Individual Pre-packaged Kits that are pre-fabricated to suit each riser can be easily transported around the site.
Reduces the cost of installation of M&E equipment by providing easy lift out panels.

With the numerous benefits of GRP such as its high strength-to-weight ratio, anti-slip properties, impact resistance, and non-conductivity, there are a plethora of reasons why our GRP Riser Guard was the perfect product for this project.

Relinea’s GRP Riser Guard is an all-in-one system designed to help you fill a void quickly & effectively, crucially ensuring on-site safety for construction workers.

Using our Re-Grid 38mm mesh grating with an integral grit top, we designed the supports to allow for removable sections to be cut, allowing the M+E services pass through the risers over all 7 floors.

This safe solution reduces the risk posed during the M&E installation by providing a safe working platform. Due to the better safety for M&E contractors, it also reduces their costs.
