Relinea Riser Void Protection Is First Choice For Mercury

Relinea was brought on a new Data Centre build by Mercury to install Riser Guard – our riser void protection system. The services were already in place, so using Relinea GRP Riser Guard as the solution, was the obvious choice.

As the M&E was already in place, using a steel system for the risers would have been impossible to install. The benefits of a GRP riser void protection system mean that the panels can be cut on-site with simple hand tools, and there is no requirement for a hot works permit. GRP also does not have to be end-banded.

Our experienced Riser Guard installation team is fully adept at fitting our bespoke riser void solutions on high-rise new builds, refurbishments, and other construction projects. Our in-house services include detailed design calculations using a trusted structural engineer, anchor testing, and FEA analysis which can be supported with live load & impact testing.

Mercury is working as the prime contractor on Global Technical Realty’s (GTR) GB One data centre campus near London, UK. Located on the Slough Trading Estate – one of Greater London’s data centre hotbeds – this 40.5MW facility will be the largest of its kind in the area upon full build out. Designed with sustainability in mind, Mercury’s team is working to deliver GB One to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

The GB One campus comprises of three interlinked data centres, each possessing 13.5MWs of IT power, across a combined area of 16,200 sqm. Each data centre can be operated individually or can be unified to function as one facility.

GTR will operate these bespoke data centres, offering unparalleled data storage and management capabilities, which meet the needs of global technology companies.
