Share this:

Staff of Relinea, based in Crumlin are delighted to be part of the UK Employee Ownership Day (EO Day), run by the Employee Ownership Association (EOA), on Friday 23rd June 2023.

We’re taking part in this year’s EO Day, which has the theme of #TheEOeffect, to showcase the impact employee ownership has on employees, business, the wider economy, communities and the environment.

As part of Relinea’s celebrations, the company is hosting an in-house wokshop with Ciaran May. Ciaran is trained and fully qualified as a Master Level N.L.P Practitioner (Neuro Linguistic Programming) as well as holding a diploma in Sports Psychology alongside being certified in other modalities such as Hypnosis, Time-Line Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other holistic credentials such as being a fully qualified breathwork and meditation instructor.

It is with this knowledge and life experience combined that Ciaran utilises a unique approach to self-improvement, treating body, mind and soul for optimal performance. Ciaran teaches people The Art of Living. From individuals that want to improve their mindset, overcome fear or break through perceived barriers to businesses that want to improve their culture or resilience.

Formed in 2005 and becoming Employee Owned in March 2022, Relinea is at the forefront of a revolution in materials through GRP innovation and design. The company is committed to improving the built environment by delivering superior materials and products for the construction and maintenance of infrastructure, rail, water treatment, and commercial projects worldwide.

Relinea is proud to celebrate employee ownership alongside others in the sector across the UK, as Karen Maguire, Technical Director nd Founder of Relinea, explains:

“EO Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate EO’s impact on business, the economy, and society, as well as raising awareness of the journey so far and the opportunity to further grow employee ownership.

Being employee-owned has a significant impact on who we are, how we think, and the way we progress. The culture of Relinea is apparent when you see us work: we collaborate, we innovate, and we’re committed. Our culture is what brings our mission and our values to life—it’s both the how and why behind the work we do.”

James de le Vingne, CEO for the Employee Ownership Association, said:

“Companies such as Relinea are great examples of the economic and social benefits that can be achieved when employees have a stake and a say in the business in which they work.

Since it started 11 years ago, the reach of EO Day and the scale of the employee ownership sector has grown, with both having more than doubled in the past few years.

Now, we have the opportunity to accelerate the pace of growth and reach even wider audiences to shout about employee ownership and its impact.

The benefits that employee ownership provides to the business and to employees is something this year’s EO Day will raise awareness of. At a time of economic turbulence, EO’s benefits for employees, businesses and local areas is particularly relevant. By making as much noise as possible we can help to showcase the impact of employee ownership and #TheEOeffect.”

With numerous events running across the UK and the involvement of thousands of employee owners and other partners, EO Day is an integral part of the EOA’s events calendar and was introduced to raise awareness of employee ownership as an economically strong and balanced business model.

The benefits of employee ownership have been proven in EOA-led research, and include improving employee health and wellbeing, increasing productivity and fostering creativity and innovation across an array of industry sectors. In addition:

  • UK employee owned companies contribute over £30 billion to the UK economy annually
  • Employee owners have higher levels of job satisfaction, feel a greater sense of achievement and job security, and are more likely to recommend their workplace than employees in non-employee owned businesses
  • Employee owned businesses operate in a range of sectors including healthcare, social care, education, transport, manufacturing, retail and professional services
