Irish Water Uisce Éireann has commenced works as part of an upgrade to the water treatment plant at Lough Forbes which will benefit over 19,000 customers in Longford. This project will benefit over 19,000 customers supplied by the Longford Central Water Supply Scheme and ensure the continued delivery of a clean, safe drinking water source and increase treatment capacity to allow for future growth in the area.
The works are being carried out by Veolia Ireland, who brought us on board to help with our GRP Solutions. We designed and installed our GRP Access steps, handrail, and solid top flooring at an external valve area; and a GRP Grating piano-hinged access trench at a RAW Water Pipe.
GRP was the ideal product to use here – GRP has an extremely long service life of 50 plus years since it is resistant to corrosion. Our GRP products also require little to no maintenance. There is no need for costly re-painting to prevent rust, saving both valuable time and money.
